About

Culimeta America, Inc was established in 1996. It is a holding, owning and co-owning companies dealing with textiles in various forms.

Brief History of a long past:

The origin of the first Culimeta Company goes back to 1926, when Henri Cuylits first found the company in “The Hague, Netherlands”. Back then, the company mostly dealt with metals. This fact lead to the inspiration to create a company name combining Metal with the name Cuylits. CUYLITS & METAL became Culimeta.

In 1958 Alfons Cuylits (the son of Henri Cuylits) moved the company to Monheim, Germany. The company product portfolio would be converted to importing and exporting products made from glass fibers, such as high temperature resistant hoses for electric cables, and gaskets for thermal insulation.

Over the years, Culimeta grew with the foundation of multiple companies in Europe and became a group of companies. One of the companies was Culimeta America, Inc, established in South Carolina, 1996.

After the untimely passing of Alfons Cuylits, the managing sons (Vincent Cuylits, Diederik Cuylits & Rogier Cuylits) decided to split up and Rogier Cuylits continued as sole owner with Culimeta America, Inc, while his two brothers continued with the rest of the group in Europe.

Over time, Rogier Cuylits acquired and founded a few companies which continue to deal with textiles and also with light metal works.

Below is a brief overview over the companies and “clickable links” for “more details”.
